A signature will show up in every single one of your posts. Every time you contribute to the board with a "quality post" people will see your signature, and Google will recognize it as a link pointing back to your site. Forum posting is one of the most powerful ways to build links to your website.

There are literally hundreds of ways to get links to build traffic to your site. These are just the more popular ways of 2007. Link building can take time, but you will eventually gain long-term traffic from it. It is better to just be patient and gradually build tons of links, until you start receiving established search engine traffic. Remember, an overwhelming majority of your sales will come from search engine traffic.
